from what i understand 99% of "lesbian" content is produced for men, so that's likely the angle OP is coming from

Not really. I'm from asia and this isn't how it goes here. Lesbians and bisexual women create a lot of lesbian and bisexual content so I wouldn't always assume that. Also, even in the west lesbians and bisexual women create lesbian art. I wouldn't be so eager to jump on to that kind of assumption if I were you. Especially since western lesbians, well lesbians all over the world, are thirsty for actual lesbian content. That's why She-Ra and the whole dang genre of yuri (which btw was started and created by lesbians) exists.
We're aware that lesbians are being fetishized by men but that doesn't mean that we stop being human, if you catch my drift.
