Why is men playing video games such a bad thing?

Even the worse ones like Call of Duty really aren’t that bad, people like to argue that they increase violence but there is no scientific evidence to support this.

I'm a female gamer, mostly play World of Warcraft, hasn't yet turned me into a violent murder-hobo elf.
It becomes an issue when someone's obsessive game grinding makes them neglect the house/relationship/sex/sleep/going out and generally having a life. My perception is this happens more with men than with women. Video games are addictive and women are not immune, but in my experience, we seem better able to prioritise our real world commitments.
(Possibly because no-one would pick up the slack if we didn't...)
It's not about video games themselves, it's when gaming is the sole hobby of a man. Having no personality other than games like many of the self proclaimed gamer dudes on reddit is extremely uninteresting. Besides, playing games 24/7 leads to them neglecting responsibilities and important aspects of their life more often than not.
I can agree with this once it becomes an addiction it can definitely become harmful.
No issue with games, but of my three brothers, two fell victim. One to a gaming addiction. He spends up to a thousand dollars a month on in game currency, only leaving enough to pay rent.
My second brother is an anime addict and spends all his time watching game streamers. He is addicted to games but has no job so he can’t spend much. Both live at home. Both have no social life.
The escapism of games and anime has pretty much consumed them from teenage onwards. They will grow into lonely loser adults that have nearly nothing positive to show for their youth.

Listen bud: any male who even asks this in the first place is an addict, likely participates in gaming culture, is therefore a misogynist, likely is addicted to porn as well, has no real life goals, is probably ugly and unfit, and uses games to give himself a sense of accomplishment because he's accomplished fuckall IRL.
The fact that you minimize video game addiction (rampant in your average scrote) to merely "playing video games" while pseudo-arguing against the myth that it increases violence tells me you are getting defensive because you feel called out on your loser habits.
So you're saying these gamers are basically ugly losers with zero real-world skills who will die lonely and miserable deaths. How is it not cruel to deprive them of the one thing that makes their sad ass existence a little bearable? Would you rather they go out into the real world and apply their ineptitude unto real people? If you think they are misogynists then what is the problem if they never leave their house and pester you with their misogyny? Out of sight out of mind right?
I have zero love for gamers but come on... You are just being sadistic now. Taking away the one thing that gives them some semblance of meaning in their otherwise miserable and meaningless existence? That's cold, even for a psychopath.

The reason I said it's sadistic is because I imagine some happy and harmless fool who will never get ahead in life being content with a simple toy and here you are attempting to take away this toy just to see the fool cry. It just seems utterly cruel and sadistic to me.

Honestly that sounds manipulative as hell. It's like saying "I don't approve of your life, you need to change because I say so or else I'm going to shame and vilify you or push for some laws to force you to act the way I say you should act."
Also, how does this personally affect you? How are these boys a burden to you? You want to go on some crusade against basement dwellers only because they slightly inconvenience you online? That is some utterly fascist thinking. Being an adult is being able to cope with and tolerate these little bumps on the road, for example: the odd imbecile who says something or does something to make you cringe or fluster you.
If you feel that you can't handle something that rattles you in the slightest and then want the world to change instead of changing your own mindset then you have a lot more in common with those folk. Whereas they are retreating from the world you are on the offensive. Different strategy but the same cause. You are both demonstrating an aversion to reality. Correct me if I'm wrong.
Lastly, "excuses" have no place here. We are not talking about morality, we are simply discussing the fact that video gamers, for the most part, are harmless nerds that have nothing else going for them in life for which I believe we don't have any business in haggling them to change themselves when they have already decided that life offers them nothing of value in return for their efforts. I've actually taken the time to talk to those folk, this is how I know.

Why does any male who does these things mean these other things. I can go saying if you do blank it means your blank but where’s the evidence? Think about gamer culture and all that it entails, I’m not just talking out of my ass. And there are obviously exceptions.

I post in "pinkpill" but I wouldn't call myself one. Also, women who aren't "pinkpill" don't like complain about video games too.
I like video games but men spend way too much time on games and ignore real life responsibilities, their health, sleep, have no other interests etc. This especially applies to all the married dudes that don't do household chores or childcare because they're too busy playing games.
I agree video game addiction is a real problem but I don’t think it’s as common as your saying.
