I have been searching for answers and most of the times it does says women are happier.

Women in our 20s are happier than young men, old married men are happier than old married women.

Women are more prone to depression but also experience positive and happiness more intensively than men. Considering the meaning of this sub(i agree is very hard that things will change) i wan't to hear what you girls think?

The older I've gotten and the more I've seen I noticed that everything that women and feminists have fought for inevitably gets turned around on us and used to benefit men.

Prime examples: sexual freedom being used to push a total lack of sexual boundaries from normalization of stripping, prostitution and porn to demonizing women who choose to wait until they know someone to put themselves in such a vulnerable position and rampant STDs that do much more harm to women than men by biologically, rape laws being lip service with a less than one percent conviction rate yet women are told to stop complaining and just report when reporting leads to abuse by police and the legal system, domestic violence laws now being used against women who defend themselves, women working outside the home and having careers now doing a second shift and having the one thing that men were supposed to provide, financial security and support, being completely eroded so now they're just giant babies who suck us dry and have no adult pride. On and on and I see it every day. men get in and they twist everything to the patriarchy. Like getting female police officers, generally just results in getting abused by female police officers the same as you would men, but it feels like an even greater betrayal.

And then there's how when we deal with one issue it gets replaced with something else. And other times we now have two things that are used against women. For example how women are still sex-shamed and vilified for their sexual choices and fulfillment of their pleasure, but we're also now vilified for not being promiscuous and performing disgusting sexual acts for men's enjoyment.

It feels like shadow boxing an invisible amorphous opponent that simply just disappears and reappears in different locations and shapeshifts every time you try to throw a punch.

I guess that's all I wanted to say. It's very disappointing and I wanted to put this somewhere where other women would understand.

In west, left wing/liberal parties rely entirely on female votes. Yet, they push aggressively anti-woman policies like pro-sex work laws and trans-agenda and this goes completely unchallenged.

Liberalism is much bigger threat to women currently in virtually every single western country. Conservative sexism is not currently having serious impact in most places (there might be some individual exceptions, however see my next point), and it's losing support, but liberal sexism is becoming engraved into our laws and social norms. Also, liberal movements that push all this sick crap are the biggest reason why far-right politics are coming back. By supporting liberal politics, you are actually encouraging sexism from both left and right, conservatives and liberals.

If even just portion of women who vote these parties stopped, they would no longer be able to win elections, and would be forced to listen to women's critiques. DO NOT BE LIBERAL/BROCIALIST HANDMAIDEN. Do not support ideologies that hate you. I am not telling you to vote for right-wing conservative, just not to tolerate blatant anti-woman crap. Every single straight couple who practices polyamory or has "open relationship" is the same. Only the man sleeps around, the woman stays faithful. If the woman is bi, then MAYBE he will let her have sex with other women (while he watches).

When a woman in relationship has sex with another man, it's the most humiliating, awful thing that can happen to the boyfriend/husband. It's the ultimate insult,"cuck". This is something I find myself asking more and more lately.

Now, I know you what you're thinking. How can I dismiss all the progress that has happened in the last century? Women getting the vote, better legal protection, careers, birth control, financial independence etc. No, I'm not dismissing any of these changes. There is no doubt that women's life in advanced countries has changed radically for the better in many aspects. What I'm wondering however is how much if any of this was truly achieved by the feminist movement?

Because I'm starting to think that the changes that happened were nothing more than the inevitable result of industrialization and capitalism. From capitalist perspective, limiting the economical participation of half of the population doesn't make sense. Industrialization created large amount of jobs outside homes and women were needed to fill those jobs. As technology kept advancing, there was less and less need for low skill workers so it was necessary for women to get more and more educated. First it was just illiterate women working in simple factory jobs, then learning to type to be secretary, then women getting university degrees to work in IT or whatever. If women are needed for jobs outside home, they need to be allowed to travel and to get driver's license. They need daycare for kids and birth control also frees parents to work more and be more flexible in their careers.

Think about it. From economical perspective it makes no sense to let ten women to stay home and take care of kids when you could pay one woman to take care of all the kids and the other nine moms could be working and producing wealth. It's not a coincidence that countries with least gender equality are also the poorest. It's not just that they are sexist because they are poor, their sexist system is causing poverty.

Technology and capitalism which drove it broke some of the age-old pillars of female subjugation:

1. It made male's physical superiority mostly irrelevant.

2. It improved life-expectancy and infant health so that it was no longer necessary to have many kids just to make sure some would survive to adulthood. Larger number of children correlated with wealth and security back in the day when manual labor was valuable, after industrialization it started to correlate with poverty. Women's domestic burden is alleviated.

3. The disappearance of simple manual jobs created the need to educate the workers so they could work new, more complex jobs. Women get educated.

None of this happened because of some ideological reason. Capitalism doesn't care about women but it cares about profit and getting women out of the kitchen happened to be profitable. Every single major change in women's life seems to have correlated perfectly with these general shifts in society.

Somewhere along, feminism happened. But did feminism cause any of these changes? I would argue it didn't. Feminism claims it's responsible for all of these things, but I think women joining the work force and becoming equal contributors and consumers in economy would've always led to women becoming more independent, participating in politics, gaining legal protections etc even if feminist movement had never existed.

The only thing that feminism has really had hand in is changing cultural attitudes - and in that, it hasn't even done a good job as we can see easily by observing how invested most people (of BOTH genders) are in male superiority.

So my verdict: Feminism is a scam. It's always been all talk and taking credit for things it didn't achieve. All real changes in women's position in society was unconnected to feminism. Women's fate in future will continue to depend entirely in technological developments.

Ok it bothers me, I really think that they have been trying to get rid of women altogether.
