yep. totally true. conservatives and the neoliberal left are absolutely conspiring, however unconsciously. that's a glosswitch tweet. I really miss her. she was one of the first people i encountered when i was becoming conscious of all of this stuff in 2016.

If TWAW wasn’t a thing I’d support TRA with no qualms. This just seems totally designed to erode women’s rights and encourage entitlement in abusive men. I’m straight, I don’t think I can even date anymore. So many men have gotten worse since Trump on both the left and the right. I feel like this white feminism thing is meant to cripple the only women who were starting to have some power. And I know rad fems/gc’s of color. This isn’t a race thing, it’s a _sex_ thing. I just feel so gaslit.

Preach. TWAW, which replaces sex with gender identity as a protected class, is a no-go for me, but I absolutely want to solve the problems facing trans individuals and want them to have societal acceptance.

i wish i could say the same, but their push to transition children, hormone blockers and mastectomies for teenagers, etc, etc, and the apparent belief that gender non-conformity means that a person should transition prevents me from even being able to say that. I do think the entire movement is predominately evil at this point.
other wise, i completely agree with you. I'm a male, and while I know it's not anything near comparable to what women have to deal with, I also have found dating to be basically impossible at this point -- very hard to meet anyone who doesn't have something like "NO TERFS or SWERFS, ACAB" in their dating profiles, and it seems like a lot of non-queer-identifying women have also generally retreated to regressive gender norms and behaviors over the last few years, as well. every fucking sucks.
you're totally right about these negative attitudes towards "white feminism." so much of what the modern supposed left is doing right now is just inadvertently empowering conservative norms masquerading behind faux-progressivism. it sucks. it sucks.

It does, but it also sucks that GenderCriticalGuys downvotes a lot of genuinely GC topics. There are conservative dudes in there who are anti-trans but not pro-female. I think most men really don't want women's true equality, to the point that they'll support the TRA agenda to ensure it doesn't happen.

definitely true. that's what a lot of the gender critical men on twitter are too. a lot of them seem to be basically misogynists, and completely unaware of it. there's a funny twitter account called GCGuysStruggle that aggregates them -- a lot of them seem to be opposed to gender nonconformity altogether.
i have found almost no other GC men that I identify with, or find redeeming qualities in, other than a few detrans men.

Do you think it is because men are socialized to get self-esteem through sex? It seems like that truly is what it comes down to 99% of the time. Why aren't these men basing their self-esteem on solving world hunger? How do they even define what a decent/good person is/does? Like sex is great, but why is it only great for them if the relationship dynamic is unequal? It's sick. The reason I started paying attention to TRA stuff is because I saw how anti consent they are and how beholden to traditional gender norms/roles they are. TW especially seem to dislike women.

Mr. Dork on here is pretty great. I really appreciate both his and your contributions to the subreddit, and honestly you two give me hope.
Overall though, I can’t say that you’re wrong in regards to the type of men who participate in gender critical guys, but I never hung out there. I can’t say I understand why other women frequented the place- it seemed a little off for me to seek out men for their opinions on radical feminism. I’m glad you guys have your space (it’s apparently still up yet the main board is closed, which should probably tell us something about who is allowed to have opinions and who is expected to stay quiet and just deal. I’m a little salty, not at you guys, but at the admins).
I think where I’m also stuck tbh, is I see some rad fem subs where they allege that heterosexual women are not really straight? Like it just seems so completely nuts bc I don’t think that’s true. Just another line of thinking to say there aren’t enough dating partners so peoples sex and orientation aren’t really valid?

There are conservative dudes in there who are anti-trans but not pro-female.
As long as they oppose TRA and recognize that women exist, they are at least supportive of the concept that allows people to advocate for women's true equality

Yeah, I guess. Many of them don’t seem outraged by regular occurrences of disrespect to women so it just gets frustrating to see how entrenched it is.
Change always comes with steps forward and back. We have to keep fighting ladies.

At this point, it is starting to feel like the left is more anti woman than the right, frankly. At least the right recognizes women exist. But they are both utter garbage

And I’m only advocating to make a distinction between trans people and not. It’s not women’s issue that TW don’t feel safe in the woman’s bathroom. The lack of distinction between the groups makes it women’s responsibility to create safety when men are the people who should be stepping up.
I don’t believe trans women are exactly the same as bio women. It’s just fact. When honesty is being censored I get really suspicious.
