When a "model" with an OF account gets someone else to sign up, the first member gets 5% of the second's earnings, paid by the company. Apparently the program ran for the lifetime of the account, but it was recently shortened to a year. Does this sound like sex trafficking to anyone else?

So, yesterday (or 12 hours or so ago), JK Rowling tweeted Stephen King thanking him. He retweeted this and within seconds, he was inundated with TRAs accusing him of being a TERF and retweeting TERF views. An hour later, he tweeted the TRA slogan "Yes. Transwomen are women".

Naturally, the TRAs were happy about this and were grateful to Stephen King, saying shit like "we have Stephen King on our side". Yet, they conveniently forget how Stephen King was massively criticised last year for having a gang rape of a minor female featured in one of his books. Whilst this is a separate point, it just shows that it doesn't matter what the people before did/said, it just matters that they regurgitate their slogan.

I'm certain that if Trump publicly said "transwomen are women", they'd endorse him also, completely forgetting what he has done and said throughout the years.

Just seen this on twitter. The profile does not have a blue tick so am copying and pasting it here.

Warning: heavy vibes of misogynist abuser/stalker tactics. How many can you spot?

Here's a 10-tweet thread on the experiences of one woman who has stated that she believes in biological reality, today. This concerns Caroline Farrow and Doctor Adrian Harrop. 1/10
Caroline Farrow is a broadcaster who received some media attention in late 2018 for saying, shockingly, 'people cannot change sex'. As you may know, Dr Adrian Harrop, is a trans activist with a proud track record of measured discussion with any woman who has this view 2/10

Screenshot of twitter from 30th July 2018:

Person: You keep posting my personal details even after I have asked you to stop because fear for my personal safety. What is your deal?

Haddock: I want you to apologise for what you’ve said, delete all of your tweets that include transphobic hate speech, and I want you to delete your profile and get off Twitter forever. You are a disgusting transphobic bigot and I don’t want anyone like you to feel safe or

welcome here.

Screenshot of twitter from 5th September 2018:

Person: Surreal day. Death threats for heckling? I was vocal - I’m on my period, bleeding from my vagina when that block manspalins feminism to me!

Haddock: I trust you will learn a valuable lesson from this [Person’s name]. A challenging yet important and unforgettable lesson. [hashtag]genderquake

Caroline's husband is a Catholic priest at two parishes and in 2019 Harrop asked Stephanie Hayden for a game of golf, using a picture of one of her husband's churches. Hayden famously has a conviction for attacking a man with a golf club. 3/10

Screenshot of twitter:

Haddock: Yes... indeed it would be... we should go on a little weekend away to explore Hull and the wider region sometime... I’ll see if there’s any nice hotels available, perhaps with golfing facilities attached 😉🏌🏻‍♀️⛳️

Person: There’s a Hilton Doubletree, but no golf unless you want to play in the street.

Haddock: we were actually planning on staying a little bit out of town, in a lovely little spot we’ve found out in rural Lincolnshire... you should come with us, the more the merrier as far as I’m concerned! 🥰👍🏻

[he includes a link to snugzz.co.uk attached]

Screenshot that continues the conversation:

Stephen Hateman: Is their a Catholic Church nearby? As a devout baptised and confirmed catholic who is in no way would ever seek to deviate from the Vatican’s teachings (unless it suits me on the day) I need a decent church nearby for mass.

Haddock: Well, it’s a well known fact that there’s only one Catholic Church that I’d ever visit nowadays... I will have to ask around for recommendations in the Lincolnshire area 😉

[he includes a picture of the inside of the church]

Hayden has launched legal actions against many people, including Caroline, over their views on the trans debate, and turned up at her house to serve her the papers (this image was taken by Farrow inside her home shortly after the golf club tweets were posted). 4/10

[Photo of Stephen Hateman holding a ring binder]

Later that year Caroline's ESTA to visit the USA was withdrawn just before she was about to travel, with no explanation given why. At the same time Dr Harrop revealed he'd just visited the US embassy in London. 5/10

[Screenshot of twitter from 19th of November 2019]

Haddock: an absolutely spectacular building... and one of London’s great modern embassies... but honestly, I always did prefer the retro and kitsch qualities of Grosvenor Square... as always, consular staff very efficient at dealing with my... important diplomatic business 😏👌🏻🇺🇸

[he includes a picture of the US embassy]

Caroline posted details about her children on Instagram, as many mothers do. Harrop then revealed a couple of weeks later that he'd been following the account and knows her children's names and the schools they attend, making comments about their mental states. 6/10

Screenshot of twitter:

Haddock: Ultimately (person’s name), it’s all about personal notoriety and exposure... the children are clearly of secondary importance, and are likely to be written off as collateral damage should any of her actions lead to them sustaining psychological trauma... it’s both selfish and irresponsible

Person: To be fair 😮☹️ I think she loves them very much. But is so eager to jump onto contrarian bandwagons without, perhaps, thinking of the longer-term implications. Mind you telling her daughter that she might be going to prison on daughters big night was not a good look.

Haddock: Absolutely. An additional key point to draw attention to re: all the accusations about doxxing: up until two weeks ago, CF had a public Instagram profile with photos of all kids, and their names, and the names and locations of all their schools. Again [cut off] 🙄🙅‍♂️

This year Dr Harrop implied he had compromising images of Caroline Farrow that he would distribute, despite this seemingly being in breach of revenge porn legislation. He also said he was tracking her periods and mocked her mental state - Caroline suffers from anxiety. 7/10

Screenshot of twitter from 12th January 2020:

Person 1: I’m told that there’s an awful photo going round of an untidy, unhoovered bedroom, with a really nasty polycotton, patterned duvet, on an unmade bed, with a blonde on top.

Person 2: was the blonde her or her husband?

Haddock: check your DMs 😏👌🏻

Screenshot of twitter from 12th January 2020:

Haddock: the timing is somewhat surprising. Ordinarily these “episodes” coincide w/ a full moon; over the last 24 hours, we’ve actually transitioned though waning gibbous phase. unless, of course, there’s something of great consequence that’s interfered w/ the lunar calibration? 😏

Harrop then said he might order 100 rainbow lanyards and have them sent to clinical staff who operate in Caroline's area. And when Caroline said Disney should spend less effort preaching about LGBT in their films, he joked about her getting Covid-19. 8/10

Screenshot of twitter from 15th March 2020:

Haddock: folks... in the wake of the rainbow lanyard-related controversy, can you imagine the uproar and the outrage of gps were to start wearing one of these bad boys on the regular? 😎😏👌🏻 [hastag]transrightsarehumanrights

Haddock: would it be just a bit too much for me to order like 100 of these things, at my own personal expense, and send them to [area] for onward random distribution to their frontline clinical staff in primary care? 😏👍🏻🏳️‍🌈

Screenshot of twitter from 11th March 2020:

Haddock: lol, so it looks like our friend Caroline Farrow has travelled to the U.S. w/ the express intention of confronting the CEO of Disney, w/ a demand that Disney should be more homophobic, & shouldn’t dare to include any representation of LGBTQ+ identities. 🤣

[he includes a link to penis news article]

Person: Well lets hope there were no covid 19 cases on the plane.

Screenshot continuing the conversation:

Haddock: heaven forbid. that’d be terrible.

Recently Caroline has been receiving several takeaway deliveries, traced back to Farnborough, that she didn't order from someone harassing her. Harrop has now tweeted that he's been mysteriously speaking to police and put his location as 'Farnborough'. 9/10

Screenshot of twitter from 28th of June 2020 (that shows his location to be Farnborough):

Haddock: i’d like to thank Surrey police for their immense helpfulness, professionalism, and discretion, at what remains to be a very challenging time for all involved. i sincerely hope this matter can be resolved in short order, and quickly drawn to a satisfactory conclusion. 🕰

Caroline doesn't actually live in Farnborough, but in between there and Godalming. Shortly afterwards, Harrop, who lives in Liverpool, tweeted that his location was now in Godalming. Caroline has called the police. 10/10

Screenshot of twitter from the 28th June 2020 (that shows his location to be Goldaming):

Haddock [speaking of his tweet thanking Surrey police]: I hear that this tweet has garnered some attention from a particular individual - who I shan’t name, & who as far as I understood had me blocked - who is yet again making a series of bizzarre allegations. i’d like to assure them that this is absolutely nothing to do with them. 🙄

Screenshot of twitter from yesterday:

Caroline: Update. Shaking like a leaf. Hiding in my bedroom. Not answering the door. Spoken to my lawyer and keeping the police updated. I believe this has been done deliberately to trigger me when it is well known that I suffer from anxiety as a result of the last few years of harassment.

Person: Stay strong 💪

Caroline: can’t breathe. The police have confirmed that they are going to come round and help. 🙏🏻

I’ve seen some discussions on other platforms and wondered if there was any wider experience of it that anyone would like to share?

Anecdotally, one teacher has noticed that out of the 9 girls in her yr9 160 student cohort who were identifying as Trans Boys, over lockdown, 8 have now desisted. Other teachers/parents/caregivers have given their view and experience of the same phenomenon. Lockdown appears to be resulting in considerable change for those girls once identifying as Trans. We’ve often talked about these instances being within social clusters or having a contagion effect and what might be causing the much higher prevalence of young trans identifying girls.

Does anyone have any experience of what is happening right now with girls desisting that they would like to share? I’m really keen to understand this in more detail, and I appreciate anything that is happening right now is anecdotal.

TW: rape.

I haven't watched Athlete A yet, I might never, it seems like alot.

But Dr. Nassar clearly became a doctor so he could molest young women and girls. 4 years of college, 4 years of medical school, 6 (?) years of residency. All for his sick goals.

1 year of wearing women's clothing so you can get into the women's shelter where there are vulnerable women and girls would've been a sweet deal to him.

No requirements at all for gender ID? Well...

Their arguments are bullcrap.

I've been seeing a growing number of TW's insinuating that they get periods after having been on hormones, that male bodies can have endo? and other things like that... ? you identify as a woman? ok but to pretend you can have periods? (which no women has ever enjoyed), to pretend you can get endometriosis? I have it and it's a serious disease that can develop into ovarian cancer, it was literal hell being in my own body before meds, why would you want that? I just don't see the appeal of something that's literally impossible for you to get hormones or not.

It's gotten to the point where I can't even read articles about sex or sexual health anymore because instead of saying "men" and "women", they say stupid shit like "people with vaginas" and use gender neutral pronouns. It's really annoying and I find it pretty offensive. It's downright impossible for men to get cervical or ovarian cancer, and NO woman will EVER need a prostate exam. And anytime I call this out, I am called a TERF by guess who, men. It's like nobody even cares anymore that women and men are different beings with different health needs. Honestly, this kind of thing is making me more and more disgusted with the transgender community. I'm so thankful that more women like Rowling are speaking out because this is getting ridiculous.

Female what? DISCUSSION
Submitted by criticalnotcompliant on June 29, 2020, 5:44 a.m. 7 comments

As many view sex and gender as completely different, they feel that the word 'woman' is only related to gender and 'female' to sex. I've seen/heard this argument umpteen times, even by those who consider themselves neutral in the debate.

There's a really bleeding obvious problem here though, female what?

A female goat?

Pig?

Deer?

Dog?

Fox?

The word for a female human is woman. We are accused of being dehumanising when we called TW men but at least 'men' implies humanity. Referring to a group of biological women as 'females' is the kind of language woman-hating incels use to dehumanise us.

Hi! It's my first time posting here because I'm confused about some pocs view on gender.

I follow a feminist-antiracism group since may due to the George Floyd murder and I tried to educate myself on these topics and being an active activist against racism in my country (as an ally, of course). However, many of these people show their support to Judith Butler's theory and I'm a little disappointed. One, in particular, is a native american woman (very feminine as well) that identifies as non-binary and I don't know if I can debate it (mostly because her post responses are limited)

So, what I wanted to ask was, do you guys know specific poc radfems that are against queer theory? Do you know bloggers, youtubers or entertainers (preferably left-winged) that can help me understand being gender critical from a poc point of view?

Similarly, should we change bathroom symbols to a stick figure with a penis and one without? This always seems to devolve into an argument of what is it isn't a "woman." It's obviously gaslighting and taking away all of our words. I was trying to think if a combination of words that couldn't be twisted, but I feel like TRA's are just trying to rewrite the entire lexicon, and I feel like I'm in crazy town.

I've seen multiple people mention a statistic about more transwomen killing or hurting women than transwomen killed by men...or something similar to that. Where can i find that source? I saw it before, but I didn't save it.

I have been wondering about this this morning. Trans people and their supporters have been claiming that no, TERF is not a slur. Yet, they throw the word at every woman who doesn't follow their cult (doesn't even have to be a radfem).

They regularly tie it to threats ("Smash their TERF faces!!!", "Die TERF!!!") and use it instead of arguments ("Okay TERF", "Wow, didn't know you were a TERF").

You could argue that it is a descriptive word to someone's affiliation, like "Nazi". Thing is though, nazi does come from a word the Nazi party used to describe themselves - Nationalsocialists. I don't think anybody ever called themselves a TERF before it got thrown around as an insult.

So if TERF isn't a slur to silence women... What is it?

TIFs are the ones who have been pushing for women to be labeled as “uterus havers”, “pregnant person/people”, “menstraters/period havers” “person with vagina” and “boob havers”, and TIFs were also the ones who got the female symbol to be taken away on that brand of Always, and are wanting pads and tampon packaging to be more gender neutral colors. The demeaning terms pushed on female anatomy and bodily functions are also coming from TIFs, with which the TIMs latch onto and use as well. After all, if TIMs want to push the trans women are women, then they have to say trans men are men, and the TIMs have to go along with the terminology TIFs want, so they aren’t invalidated.

Trust me, I’m not a fan of TIMs, but I can guarantee with all their gender stereotypes and caricature role playing as women, they were probably more than happy to see a female symbol or feminine colors on the packaging for menstrual products, because it probably validated their weird period fetish and make them think “I really am a woman uwu!” And if there is a hell on earth, and uterus transplants can happen to TIMs, you can bet they’ll immediately lash out at being called a “uterus haver” or “pregnant person”. Because that would invalidate their existence, since even they realize pregnancy is something only women can go through.

While the majority of TIMs don’t give a shit about the struggles women go through, TIFs aren’t exactly women’s allies either. Generally they’ve been more quiet than TIMs, but that’s been changing. While everyone was up in arms because of JK Rowling’s tweets, thinking they were automatically against trans women, her tweets were also directed at TIFs. Because TIFs want to pretend that men can have periods, get pregnant and have kids. TIFs are trying to deny the biological reality that only women/females can gestate and give birth to human babies, because of their own dysphoria and hatred for their bodies.

Trust me, being a woman can seriously suck. I can’t think of one woman who’s ecstatic about their bodies and the periods, pregnancy aspect, and the sexism, misogyny, and sexualization we go through. And while TIMs definitely do all they can to try to convince everyone they are no different from women, TIFs are doing all they can to distance themselves from biological reality, and trying to push the derogatory terms against women’s bodies and reproductive organs.

Sorry I rambled, but I just wanted to remind women here that TIMs aren’t necessarily the ones that are pushing for these demeaning terms about female biology. TIFs are just as culpable of it, and are usually the ones who push for these terms first, and TIMs have to go with it, because of trans ideology, and going against it would face serious backlash from the cult.

I have rather severe anxiety, but I am also vocal about my stance on sexism.

Today was the first time I was active on twitter having a conversation about sexism and how trans woman aren't women and to categorise them as the same is disheartening. I'm a very small fish in the sea so I'm just doing my part, but it honestly upsets me even though the person I was talking to was respectful.

I'm upset because this illness is constantly validated and people are doing experimental drugs in order to hope to feel better about themselves. It's also upsetting that I'm treated as if I'm the bad guy because I insist that they are wrong. That they are invalidating women by saying that they are the same.

How do people cope and why do I feel so upset when they are literal strangers? I worry that my children will have to face this and I don't know how I'm going to deal with it.

My only solace is that because we're not white. Our children won't be exposed to much of that idiocy for now, but I can't predict what's going to happen in 20yrs... It's just so sad.

ETA: I honestly can't see it from their pov. They just spout the same thing over and over again. Am I missing something?

What is seen as 'femininity' is really just a vast hobby that has been violently forced on us. We are shown and told either directly or indirectly, from the time we are born, that our worth correlates with how well we do at participating in these hobbies. The effects of this on different women can range from extremely emotionally traumatizing/violent/deadly, to something that they will perform, maybe even happily, without question or notice. Happy compliancy doesn't change the fact that this coerced lifestyle has woven itself through every aspect of their personality, and that this woman would be an entirely different person, free to develop how she's inherently meant to, without those restraints.

The hobbies/traits we are expected to take up include anything from nail polish, makeup, dresses, long hair, etc. To traits that are so deep, we normally consider them to be part of us, to be objectively 'good' and necessary, when in fact they are there because, once again, we have been convinced from the time we can speak that the optimal 'good' woman is this. And who doesn't want to be 'good'? That's the 'right' thing to do. Except its not, because we often have a skewed sense of what is 'right'. We need to give up more than a man does, much more, emotionally, physically, intellectually, for it to have the same worth as a much smaller effort from a man. We often consider the 'right' thing to be the thing that caters to others feelings at the expense of our safety/rights/validity of our born identity, and we have been conditioned to see this as fair and right and equal to the very little we get in return.

The ingrained personality traits often include a lack of anger, being submissive, being 'warm', the way we speak in which we add words such as 'like' in every few words as to not seem so confident, we apologize often simply for speaking or existing in a public space, asking for basic humanity. Changing our tone, nurturing. Moving out of the way. This is unfortunatly, in my experience, why women support TWAW. We know how it is to be an opressed group. We generally go by the idea of, 'believe the victim'. We want to protect women. These men frame themselves as victims, and then are believed just for that, without question. We know how much it hurts to be questioned. They see them as a victim, in which case we feel inclined to give up our spaces, hard earned rights, language, safety, emotional labor, and born identities to make room for them. Most 'good' people would agree that it's generally the right choice to give up a little for someone with less than you. Except, the 'victim' is not really a victim, and doesn't have less than them. The women really believe they are doing good.

This is heavily influenced, also, by the fear of being a 'terf'. Not only because they don't want to be on the receiving end of the TRA violence, but because they believe they are doing the right thing, leading them to consider themselves good people, which of course makes it impossible to accept that an opinion that could group them in with 'evil' terfs could be a right or good opinion. Even if the thought is that something is unfair to them or hurting them, they see that 'terfs' say that, and they are not a terf, they are a good person, and so they must just be feeling selfish or are misled.

I'm not saying that women wouldn't be interested in dresses if they'd never been marketed to women. It's a hobby. It appeals to many, as painting, chess, or stargazing does. I'm sure many would. And many wouldn't. The same way as many men may be naturally interested in makeup and dresses had history been different and those products had been marketed towards both sexes. Many men may be much more timid and apologetic about themselves, if systematic abuse didn't focus more on abusing and manipulating men into being 'tough', and instead treated them as powerless aswell. Many women would still be warm and many men would still be cold. These are natural traits, but most of us haven't acquired them naturally.

It is so extremely insulting to be told that not only is 'woman' defined by this traumatic process of conditioning us, but that all you need to do to be a woman is to portray those stereotypes, without even experiencing or understanding the trauma

My definition of a woman is, as it is, a human born with a female body. The secondary 'definition', which is not a definition, but since it is an inescapable reality, and what society perceives us by, it may as well be. What seperate men and women into men and women, as opposed to just 'people', besides our bodies, is this experience. Not the outcome so much, as the experience of being slowly pressed into what 'woman' is 'supposed' to be, while also trying to grow into ourselves, and often having no clue where one begins and one ends.

Men have a similar experience, as they do have many harmful stereotypes put onto them, but the difference is that they experience privilege. Male privilege. To deny the universal experience of women is to deny male privilege, as male privilege can only exist when there is an inverse. Which is us.

The sickest thing is that this opposit experience men have is what leads them to believe that they can be trans. That they can become a woman. They traumatize us this way systematically because they are also systematically raised to believe that it is inherently what we are, what we need to be. They don't perceive themselves as having more say than women, they don't notice that they do it, because in the same way that women believe that giving up too much is 'fair', men believe that defining women, taking what they want, and that their entitlement is also 'fair'. And if it is fair then they are objectively right, and it is objectively wrong to question them. That what they perceive someone to be, is what it is, and people are being mean to them if they try to have as much say and worth as a man.

TRAs see trans identifying men as extra fragile women who need extra care

What they are is men, doing exactly what men have always done and never ever stopped doing to us. They tell us they have no definition for woman, yet when we tell them what we are, they say no. "No. Women is not what women say it is. I don't know what woman is, but it is not that. Despite having no clear idea of what a woman is, I will become one, by acting out the stereotypes I violently forced you to become, and you need to make room for me or I will hurt you".

When they say TERF, that is what they are saying. When they say 'kill terfs', they are saying, kill women who don't make it easy for us to use them as a toy to abuse, take from or use to be catered to. Kill women who know that they are more than what we try to force them to be.

One more thing I wanted to touch on is language. The female symbol being removed from pad packaging. 'chest feeding'. 'pregnant person'. Anyone born under the term 'woman' is barely seen as a person. We are barely given the human rights that that word implies. We are still fighting for 'woman' to imply a people of the same equality that 'man' implies. We are barely a 'pregnant woman' and mostly still a body that made a child for a man because a man had sex with it. We are barely 'breast feeders' and not just women using men's natural sex toys to feed children. We are excluded, hurt, starved, ridiculed, taxed for having periods. Yet there is barely anything known about conditions that effect only womens reproductive parts. The only cure for debilitating periods, at this point, is cutting the entire uterus out, or hoping that the side effect of a medication meant for something else will help. Both of which render a woman infertile, either permanently, or when on the medication. The woman is also likely effectively infertile off the medication aswell, due to the bleeding. In the year 2020, where women exclusive health conditions are barely taken as important enough to even research, we WILL NOT reduce ourselves from 'women' to gender natural terms. Our entire fight is for 'woman' to be a person free of all those restrictions. For women to be able to be women, without question, influence or oppression. Without expectation or trade. We will not give up the titles we deserve and are still fighting to be seen as human for being classified under. That is entirely contradictory. Since when is feminism about continuing to do everything that hurts us and makes men happy, in hopes that they'll be thankful and therefore nice enough to give us equality?

In Bulgaria, where my parents are from, gender ideology is nearly unheard of. To my parents, a man is a person with a penis, a woman is a person with a vagina, it is impossible to change one's sex, gender and sex are used interchangeably, and trans people are gender-nonconforming men and women. The end. They are surprised that there are people who view it differently than this. It is impossible to even discuss the dimensions of this debate with them because they can't wrap their head around the other side to even debate it, it's as if it's some joke to them or something from a movie.

A few days ago I was playing jack box online with some friends and two guys kept making jokes about masturbating and pornstars in front of female friends and other men. I thought it was so weird how comfortable they felt admitting that they watch porn and even go as far as knowing the pornstar's names and they have favorite pornstars and favorite porn movies and were making recommendations to each other as if they were talking about sitcoms on Netflix. One of the guys spoke up and said he was getting uncomfortable. They started questioning him about his porn habits and he said he doesn't watch porn because he finds the degradation of women not erotic and really gross and depressing. They all proceeded to call him a liar and kept insisting that all guys watch porn. He explained to them that just because it's something all men may do, doesn't make it okay. He told them that he doesn't and prefers to read erotic stories written by women for men. They all proceeded to make fun of him and call him a "pussy" and other degrading names. While he patiently explained to him that he thought it was inherently unmasculine to take part in hurting women instead of protecting women. They all continued to laugh at him, call him a liar, and more shockingly some of the women jumped in to make fun of him.

I got off the call because I was so shocked by all this behavior but I can't believe how accepted and normalized and even celebrated men consuming pornography is that this one man saying he doesn't watch porn is called a liar and ridiculed.

Remember when he pinned Rowling’s most recent tweet (with the Dworkin quote)? Yeah, he un-pinned it and commented in another tweet (in response to being asked whether transwomen are women) that, indeed, “transwomen are women”.

So that’s disappointing.

It's especially disappointing given that Rowling recently (within the last 2 hours) thanked Stephen King for standing up for women.

I hope she realizes what he's done.

I hope he realizes what he's done.

But somehow, I doubt it.

Anyway, I have a screenshot of the tweet in case it disappears.

EDIT: Apparently he didn't unpin the tweet buuuuut I don't think that matters, given what he said.

Why are people now referred to as LGBTQI when you can't be a gay man and lesbian at the same time? When did it become appropriate for reporters and journalist to refer to people like this. Like I have heard people refer to a lesbian woman as " a LGBTQI" woman. For brevity you could just say she is lesbian.

So I've been seeing a few things around Reddit stating that there's going to be some kind of widespread purging of subs tomorrow. I can't actually confirm if this is true our not, but I figured it warranted a discussion. From what was mentioned, it seems to be mostly a race-related thing, but someone brought it to light over at LGBdroptheT, and honestly I think we're fair game to be deleted given Reddit's track record of trans censorship.

Has anyone else heard anything about this? And do we have any kind of backup or alternate site in place in case we go under?

Hi gender critical! I’m a long time lurker of this sub and i’ve had this issue thats been on my mind for a while and I figured i’d vent here and ask for your guys’ opinions.

I’ve been gender critical for a few years now and upon gaining more insight on the trans community and how the us lgb folks interact with them, i’ve become dubious of some bisexual men. I feel truly awful about this and its quite hypocritical since I’m a bisexual woman myself, but I feel uncomfortable with the idea of dating a bi man because of their (general) open-mindedness towards trans women. I’m just so uncomfortable with the idea of being involved with a man who may be attracted to trans women.

Now, I know that this is kinda ridiculous and I shouldnt have to worry about such a thing, but its become such an issue that i’m paranoid about my current straight boyfriend. Its an irrational fear of course, but I feel disgusted at the thought of being with a man who potentially watches a lot of porn, and not just that, but fetishistic, gross, pornography.

It’s not like i’m insecure or competitive against TIM’s, I just dont like the idea of being involved with a man who is attracted to the caricature of a woman.

I do not want to be prejudice towards bisexual men and I’d like to know if other people here feel the same way? I feel especially hypocritical and ashamed considering my own orientation.

I would like some input from you guys. Am I crazy for thinking this way? Is it internalized homophobia/biphobia or am I just plain ignorant and how can I unlearn this sort of thinking?? :(

I'm tired of being inclusive to the detriment of women and girls worldwide. I think calling them trans "women" gases them up to the point that they feel no shame saying that twaw. Then now they're the real women and were vagina-havers and vulva-havers. We need to stop being accommodating to these men. period!

I have bought "sex and punishment" by Eric Berkowitz a few months ago, and I remember a particular passage early in the book that was extremely interesting that I'm going to try to summarize as best as I can.

It basically says that It was not until the homo sapiens age that the link between pregnancy and sexual intercourse was figured out, humans probably didn't know how children were made before that and believed that babies magically appeared in the womb as women were constantly pregnant or lactating. And menstruation was seen as a magical and overwhelming event, as the only people who could bleed were hurt or were dying, and were in obvious distress. However, women could lose blood regularly without much discomfort. That must have been a really unexplainable event at some point.

However, when pregnancy through sexual intercourse was figured out, the magic completely disappeared. Once they knew how women could get pregnant through sex, men started to impose rules. It's believed the first restrictions appeared in the paleolithic period, in which it was prohibited to have intercourse as menstrual blood was seen as dirty and unclean. That escalated into, for example, Hebrew religion, in which a woman on her period would make everything she touched dirty, and needed to clean constantly.

Hope it can be interesting and wonder if anyone has more to offer.

Okay, so a weird one. Is there a word for an intense and irrational fear or dislike of opposing views. One of my relatives is like this with all topics. Also reminds me of the ‘no debate’ lot. Wondering if and psychologists/medics might know

How to even respond NEED ADVICE/SUPPORT

I’ve been spending a lot of time here reading and reading some radfem books. I’ve never really broached radfem topics IRL with other women - but today I (gently) asked a lesbian friend what she thought of the trans movement and if she felt any change in her lesbian only spaces, etc. I tried to ask in a really neutral way to not cause any controversy or fully out myself as gender critical. She just said “trans women are women... I mean what about trans women make them any less of a woman than you or me?”

I didn’t really know how to respond other than, thanks for talking with me lol. I have no idea how to respond to that kind of argument. The difference is they’re men. I definitely am more passive than a lot of the other posters on here, and am generally supportive of people living their lives as long as they aren’t hurting anyone. But trans women are biological men. If a lesbian friend doesn’t see that, idk what to do.

I see this a lot; postmodernism got us here. That could not be further from the truth. Firstly, bc so few people ever read it. I am not saying a slew of postmodernist writers weren't oblivious or worse to women, but it was such a minor intellectual movement in the big schema of history that it could have little bearing on dominant culture. Moreover, which postmodernism are you even referring to--the philosophy? the aesthetics of a certain moment in art? cinema? Or are you using the word to simply describe a now-waning moment in history (and capitalism) that has been successfully supplanted by neoliberalism? Which postmodernist got us here: Lyotard? Baudrillard? Derrida? Foucault? Fredric Jameson? Angela McRobbie? Some of these aren't even postmodernists but poststructuralists, which are not exactly the same thing. [The poststructuralists are specifically post-Cartesian, so they are inherently opposed to self-naming and the idea that the self or cogito can "choose" a gender identity; there is no "I think therefore I think I am a woman or NB"! lol to that. In fact, the asserted the radical instability of the self altogether, that identity is a fiction--something we could use these days to counter the totalitarianism of identity politics.]

I am guessing most people referencing pomo as the bad "woman" are inferring Judith Butler, who in fact said we cannot understand "performativity as the act by which a subject brings into being what she/he names" (Bodies that Matter 2); and that "gender performativity cannot be theorized apart from the forcible...practice of regulatory regimes and the account of agency conditioned by those very regimes of discourse/power CANNOT BE CONFLATED WITH VOLUNTARISM OR INDIVIDUALISM, much less with consumerism, and IN NO WAY PRESUPPOSES A CHOOSING SUBJECT" (15). By this very logic, one cannot CHOOSE THEIR GENDER according to, yes, JUDITH BUTLER. period. Nor can they buy their gender in feminine accoutrements or surgery. Most significantly, it is quite clear here that in her theorization of gender CITATION we cannot CHOOSE our pronouns. {nb: I am engaging with the texts she authored, not with her as a person}.

That both sides get this/her completely wrong makes me crazy. We will win these arguments with the MRA/TRA only if we are smarter and know more and weaponize knowledge and history. I am a published scholar of postmodern feminism and I can tell you this is not helping our case to be ignorant and make claims against something of which there is little or no understanding. Isn't that EXACTLY what trans and non-binary people are doing? Claiming they know women's or men's (do TiMs ever do this? I don't think they do) experience w/o ever picking up a book or asking a woman. Let's not follow their model. I get that this is difficult stuff, but then don't badmouth it without know the history/debates/texts. This is my point: I actually believe pomo theory can debunk the TRA movement, and that such claims as above actually are the reason for the backlash against poststructuralist feminism on both sides. Its focus on the social production of sexual difference terrified men in the academy--not to mention their feeling small and stupid that a woman was better with academic language and philosophical concepts than they were--so it was shut down or completely misused and abused. That was the power of Gender Trouble, and the bad ass sisters of feminist philosophy and pomo theory (Elizabeth Grosz, Rosi Braidotti, Trinh T. Minh-ha, Iris Marion Young, Joan Wallach Scott, Gayatri Spivak, Hortense Spillers, et al.).

I work at an airport where I refuel planes, help passengers and pilots carry their luggage to the plane, etc. Long story short, its a physically taxing job. I'm one of the two females that works here. I guess I should mention that I'm short, 5'3" and just 110 pounds, but by no means would I consider myself frail or weak. My manager is a guy in his 50s. He will sometimes mock me for my size, saying that I got lucky that I even got hired because of how weak I was initially. I also get shit from pilots that will take one look at me, and say something along the lines of "are you sure you can carry that? that looks way too heavy for you!" Probably the worst one had to be awhile back. I went over to some pilots to help with their luggage and the captain said, verbatim, "is there a guy that can help me? this luggage is way too heavy for you" How the hell do you even respond to misogynistic shit like that? To make matters worse, the person who hired me is female, and she will also mock me for my size. How do you deal with sexist shit like this, especially when it comes from the same gender? I'm just tired of being treated like this. Women are targeted in every way when the opportunity is there.

If we decided non-violent cops are bad too because they just sit and do nothing to stop their violent colleagues, is it a stretch to compare it to men?

"Not all men are evil blabla", yes, but most men do nothing to stop the bad men. Even worse, they just shut down all discussion because it hurts their feelings.

Edit: in the end I forgot the main point I wanted to make. Rather than just making an analogy for the sake of it, I was wondering if it would help people (specially leftists) to understand misogyny and why we don't like the "not all men" excuses. What do you think?

I just wanted to say thank you to all of you who speak up on social media; to those who discuss trans-related topics with their friends and families; to those who post here; to those who silently support GC views. Even though I don't know you, you saved my life from going the wrong direction.

I grew up surrounded by the rampant misogyny and sexists stereotypes. My family would tell me that a woman MUST get married and have a child; otherwise, she's not entirely a woman. I cried my eyes out one night when I was 5 and I first realized I'll HAVE TO give birth. My respect to all moms here, but I'm not ready to go through pregnancy and labor still, even now when I'm 27. My family would also tell my I'm not very lady-like: I used to choose more comfortable clothes over pretty dresses and high heels. My family would insist on me keeping my long hair because hair is what defines me as a woman. My family wouldn't let me play with a very cool wooden sword one of my relatives made for me, and instead I was offered to play with something that is "more for girls".

I started attracting male views pretty early. All women in my family had large breasts, and I started looking very "mature" at the age of 11. I thank fuck for not being assaulted, yet I still remember all of those nasty looks men would give me and all the nasty things they would tell me.

I had extremely low self-esteem. I had terrible body image issues. I always wanted to be taller, thinner, with a more defined waistline, with a popular "thigh gap", with prettier more feminine face and less deep voice.

When I was growing up, in my country the trans movement wasn't popular yet, so I managed to successfully go through the entire school and then university without falling for the agenda.

The hell went loose later in my life. I lost my mom, my two friends, and both granddads all in one year. Mom was fighting with cancer and I was silently watching her slowly dying. My friends committed a group suicide. I didn't even know something was wrong in their lives, they always looked so happy. Granddads passed away because of their age but I still felt very bad for not spending time with them when they were alive. I was drowning in the feeling of guilt. I couldn't see the light anymore. I think even though I had some sort of mental health issues before, that year they for the first time shined bright.

As a way to somewhat cope, I cut my long hair. A month later, my manager in a conversation with one of our customers told about me: "Yeah, this is a woman but not entirely".

I wanted to distract myself from my pain and started reading things on the internet. In particular, a lot of things on Tumblr. That's how I learned about the trans movement.

I never felt the need to transition. Even then, I knew I won't be able to be a man. Never. Yet I wanted to escape my womanhood as well. I read about non-binary people and felt like it was something I was looking for. I told my friends I was "not a woman, not a man but something in between". They never tried to stop me or talk to me about that.

I was so happy at first. I'm not entirely a woman, you're right, manager! I have a freedom to do whatever I want. I don't have to give birth! I don't have to wear dresses or make-up! Holy crap, it was an amazing feeling.

And then I met a feminist. Like, not that liberal whatever that passes for feminism nowadays, an actual feminist. We talked a lot. She brought me to the group of other feminists. We would discuss women's problems and I felt I could relate. I shared my experiences and mentioned I was an enby. They never judged me for that, but they always made sure to educate me on how underlying mental health issues multiplied by gender stereotypes and uncontrollable use of social media could possibly change my views.

I gave up on reading Tumblr propaganda and started reading feminist theory instead. I found so many answers to so many questions. I also found a great therapist with radical feminism gender critical views, and she helped me sort out my feeling of guilt. I can't say I feel absolutely mentally healthy now but it definitely a lot better than it used to be.

I never was a trans but I could relate to them a lot. I'm absolutely convinced the majority of them have the same issued I had. The majority of them are just lost. And I would like to once again say thank you for what you all are doing. I know it might be hard but please keep going. If at least one scared and confused girl sees the truth, it was all worth it.

Please read this: https://digitalcommons.law.seattleu.edu/cgi/viewcontent.cgi?article=1813&context=sjsj

Although I condemn its misreading of Butler (which is pretty egregious), the history and argument made here is important. To be clear, it is not "libfem vs. radfem"; these are not accurate terms. Liberal feminism and radical feminism were competing, mostly coterminous branches of the second wave with differing, if overlapping concerns and interests (basically Betty Friedan vs. Marilyn Frye, Bella Abzug vs. Mary Daly; legal rights in the public sphere vs separatism).

The feminism of today IS NOT LIBFEM. 'Woke' 'liberals' is very different than Liberal Feminism, so can we please stop calling it that (I'd be happy with "woke liberals" if neoliberalism feels to jargon-y). If you want to truly understand what is happening and the history, read this article on the neoliberal cooptation of feminism. the TRA movement is pure, unadulterated NEOliberalism. There is much written on this topic, but here is a leading feminist academic on the topic who authored a book on the subject: https://stateofnatureblog.com/catherine-rottenberg-neoliberal-feminism/

She explains it all pretty clearly. I am posting this bc the language means something and liberal feminists like Bella Abzug and Shirley Chisolm are important to me and I don't want to see them dragged through the mud by mislabeling what they did and their contributions to the movement and making our lives better for it. Yes, today's 'liberal's' (really NEOliberals) suck; but liberal feminists gave us Title IX, anti-discrimination laws, and sexual harassment as a recognized legal category. They ran for office and represented women in electoral politics.

It is frustrating to see this reddit posit lib vs rad as a resource (that video sucks, btw; she gets it wrong in many places). I've posted elsewhere lots of resources on this history. Most of us don't like being labeled "cis" (sic); how do you think our foremothers think of being conflated with TRA-spewing liberals who are in no way feminists and would never lift a finger for feminist rights? I post this in honor of the work they did and what they made possible for us today.

Does anyone follow "Our Lives Matter" on facebook? She collects and documents information about Black women and girls murdered in the US. I had noticed that I have not been seeing posts from her lately, and just saw this today:

"Many people have been contacting me as to why I have not been posting. The answer is simple: Facebook has deemed the posts on this page as spam. According to Facebook, posting about BW and BGs who are victims of violence seems to go against their community standards. Yet those same standards allow posting after posting about BM and BBs who have fallen victim to police brutality ad infinitum. It is time to call them out on this practice of gender erasure as well as racism when it comes to not allowing postings about BW and BGs who are victims of horrific violence not only by LE but a great majority of time by BM and BBs within their own communities. Facebook doesn't silence pages or posts that show BW and BGs being abused, degraded or defamed though. Why are those posts and pages allowed to exist and continue with reckless abandon?

BW have been fighting for our humanity since the 1800s and on a broader scale since the early 1900s. Now we are in the 21st century and the beat goes on. Why does social media, the MSM, SJWs as well as liberal politicians only see BM and BBs as victims of violence? Why are BW being silenced when we attempt to show what is happening to us within our own communities by those that look like us? What narrative is really being pushed on the general public and why? What is the end goal?

While I have not abandoned the mission for BW and BGs, Facebook is definitely silencing the voices of those who dare to speak about the reality faced by us.

Share this post to get the word out that Facebook is unfairly targeting not only this page but any page or forum that dares to speak the truth in favor of BW and BGs.

WE WILL NOT BE SILENCED!!!!"

I went to check on the number of signatures the petition had this morning and all I’m getting is “sorry, we can’t find that page!” 😕 It must have been removed over night and it almost had 2000 signatures

I’m thinking of putting another one up but I don’t want the same thing to happen again, this is so frustrating!

There are the people who genuinely have gender dysphoria. That must be really challenging, and I truly hope they get the mental health care that they need.

Then there are the abusive, misogynist, narcissistic "trans" people who hate women so they pretend to be one of us so they can invade our spaces. This is probably also a case of mental illness or personality disorder, and I do hope they somehow manage to get mental health care for their issues. But they're also incredibly violent, and they're being disingenuous by pretending to be trans.

I feel like somehow, somewhere we need to start distinguishing between these two groups. Because the first group - I really feel compassion for them. The second group - fuck them.

Am I way off here? I've been learning a lot from this sub about things that don't show up in my day to day life. And I really think there are two profiles here: "true" trans people with gender dysphoria, and faux "trans" people.

Thoughts?

Just wanna start this off by saying JK Rowling wasn't being hateful, and that I actually agree with what she was saying. It's truly unfair how she is being canceled and threatened for daring to express her gender-critical views.

Whether or not you agree with what she said is a different story, but I think it's wildly irrational to claim she was being transphobic.

She outright said she knows and loves trans people, and believes that they deserve respect and happy lives (something along those lines)

JKR tried to write thoughtfully and compassionately in an effort to speak her mind without offending someone. And people are bashing her for it.

The whole twitter controversy just goes to show that people can get too easily offended, and anything remotely scientifically true or fact-based is labeled as hate speech and transphobic.

Sorry if this digressed into a mini rant. What I'm trying to say is actually summed up in a line from one of JK Rowling's tweets: "It isn't hate to speak the truth."

Barrister Allison Bailey's fundraiser to file a lawsuit against Stonewall has already been interrupted and limited severely by Crowd justice, as explained in this great post by u/coffeencroissant.

https://www.reddit.com/r/GenderCritical/comments/hhf9ec/i_dont_know_if_you_all_have_been_following_the/

Please join me in reaching out to the Crowd justice platform to put pressure on them to reinstate her fundraiser. They have removed it from their website search, but if you go to Ms. Barrister's twitter (@bluskyeallison) you will find the link.

On the fundraiser page, (on the crowd justice website) there is a button that looks like an envelope to live chat with their support, you can send them messages directly from there.

If you would like to use an anonymous email, Guerrilla Mail is a decent option. (You can simply use any made up email address with @sharklasers.com, pokemail.net, or grr.la as the second half.)

The text I sent is copied below. (I have removed the link that I included to the actual fundraiser since that's against this forum's policy, but for clarity you may wish to add that into the message before you send it to crowdjustice.) Please feel free to use if it makes it easier for you to speak in support.

.......

I am writing to request that you reinstate the fundraiser for barrister Allison Bailey, and complain about your extremely biased handling of this situation. In breach of your own posted terms of service, which say that fundraisers will NOT be stopped when they hit their target, it is a shamefully partisan move against this particular case that you have chosen to stop collecting donations on her behalf.

Many of us have followed closely the situation that led up to Ms. Bailey's suit and feel she speaks for voices like ours that are drowned out, attacked and unheard. This suit has importance. If you truly stand by your words that you do not take sides on legal matters and leave it to the courts to decide, please reinstate her fundraiser to accept further donations. Your treatment of this particular case over the last 24 hours had been extremely biased.

Please stand up for the principles of equality under the law and fair access to the law and let her case proceed unhindered.

https://twitter.com/jk_rowling/status/1277263814552100866?s=20

Today I discovered that I was accused of hate by shadow environment minister Lloyd Russell-Moyle in the pages of tribune magazine. He claimed I was ‘using’ my experiences of sexual assault and domestic violence to ‘discriminate’ against trans people.
This morning, Mr Russell-Moyle issued an apology on Twitter, although he didn’t trouble to tag me in. Coincidentally, his change of heart occurred after his remarks were repeated in national newspapers with higher circulations than tribune magazine.
For those who’d like to know what triggered the shadow minister’s original accusation, these are the relevant paragraphs of the essay I wrote a couple of weeks ago. The full piece can be read here https://bit.ly/386iUOs
Since writing my essay, I’ve received over 3000 emails thanking me for speaking up. I’ve been brought to tears many times while reading, sometimes out of gratitude for their kindness, but also because many women have shared their own experiences of violence & sexual assault.
Some emails came from professionals working in women’s refuges, the prison service, the social work system, the criminal justice system and the police. All expressed concerns about the aims and methods of current trans activism.
As I stated in my essay, my primary worry is the risks to vulnerable women. As everyone knows, I’m no longer reliant on communal facilities, nor am I likely to be imprisoned or need a women's refuge any time soon. I’m not arguing for the privileged, but the powerless.
When so-called leftists like Lloyd Russell-Moyle demand that we give up our hard won sex-based rights, they align themselves squarely with men’s rights activists. To both groups, female trauma is white noise, an irrelevance, or else exaggerated or invented. https://bit.ly/2BIPTMK
Andrea Dworkin wrote: ‘Men often react to women’s words—speaking and writing—as if they were acts of violence; sometimes men react to women’s words with violence.’ It isn't hateful for women speak about their own experiences, nor do they deserve shaming for doing so.
I accept Lloyd Russell-Moyle's apology in the hope that he’ll dig a little deeper than hashtags and slogans. He might then understand why increasing numbers of people are deeply concerned about UKLabour’s position on women’s rights.

I have severe endometriosis and am part of a local group on Facebook for people with endo that calls itself a sisterhood. Tonight it has devolved into people saying calling it a sisterhood is transphobic and exclusionary, and that even babes would be too feminine. I go to this group for support often, it is one of the only spaces I can be open with my health. I can’t respond to comments supporting the group name without being called a TERF or transphobic and being kicked out of the one supportive space I have. I am just fucking over this bullshit taking over women’s health and a condition that is already doubted and ignored beyond belief and dismissed as “just bad cramps” and “periods are meant to hurt it’s normal”. Sorry for ranting I just needed to let this out. Just over being dismissed for my health and now being scared to talk about it without losing friends and support
