"While the sex/gender distinction may serve a purpose in more nuanced or theoretical discussions on the subject, in everyday life most people do not make this distinction. That is, most people use the terms “sex” and “gender” synonymously. Whenever a man speaks over me or down to me, he’s not thinking: “Well, this person appears to me to be biologically female, as opposed to merely identifying as a woman, so therefore I will be misogynistic toward her.” Rather, he simply sees a woman/female (same thing in his eyes), and treats me accordingly. While it is true that some forms of sexism specifically target female biology (e.g., slurs for breasts and vaginas, attempts to regulate women’s reproductive systems), many other expressions of sexism target traits that fall under the realm of gender (e.g., accusations that women are not mentally or constitutionally fit for leadership positions, comments deriding feminine gender expression, etc.).Additionally, trans women do experience many forms of sexism that target female biology — in my case, I have experienced slurs targeting my female body parts, sexual harassment, attempted date rape, men ogling and objectifying my body, and so on.Clearly, “women are oppressed because of their sex, not their gender” is not a serious proposition, nor is it a legitimate feminist concern — it’s merely a bold-faced attempt to exclude trans women. Feminism is a movement to end sexism. Trans women face sexism. Ergo, trans women have a stake in feminism."

This is one of the most incorrect takes and clearly shows that transwomen could give two shits about actual feminism and sexism that women face. It really shows delusion. Most biological men probably do treat biological women and transwomen differently. Sexism isn't just being told to get coffee or being stared at on the street.. It goes so much further than that. They do realize that it is partially based on biological differences--women carry and take care of babies and men do work and take care of the family. This didn't happen because women just wanted to carry babies. It's because no man can.

TRAs focus too much on people whose reproductive systems and whatnot have an issue of sort. No periods, cant have babies, etc. They rightfully point out that just because a woman is infertile is still a woman. Obviously. But the inability is based on some problem with the functioning or perhaps an inadequate reproductive organ...it is not because there are exactly 0 of the needed parts in the reproductive systems.

The poor dear probably feels oppressed because he's never been pregnant against his will.

I thought that this would be an opportune time to debunk this “trans women are biological males” argument, as well as misconceptions about “biological sex” more generally.
the literal next paragraph starts with, “I’m a trans woman, but also a biologist!” as if them being a biologist means that they themselves get to redefine what biological sex means.

these people are fucking loons. no two ways about it.

how can you fucking “DEBUNK” the statement that “trans women are biological males.” It’s a factual fucking statement. Not an option.

And big fucking shock that the TiM wants to write a fluff piece for a shit website, and then claim they’re a biologist. Yeah, I’m sure many employed biologists write shit for medium.com in their free time. Spare me.

Please archive this sort of stuff instead of linking to it directly, so Serano's piece and the anti-woman site that is Medium don't get further clicks. See Rule 8 in the sidebar. Thank you.

Will do! Sorry, I completely blanked on the rules with these sites.

Ah Fetish Jerk and his penis poetry.

He's a disgusting man in love with himself.

Serano? No thanks. He could literally write something about how I'm going to become a millionaire and I'd give it a hard pass.

Lie 1. He’s a woman.

Lie 2. He’s a feminist.

Lie 3. He’s a biologist.

Ok I had to stop there. That’s enough lying for me.
