This is the least biased coverage of trans issues I have seen in the Indy - and it links to JKR's actual essay.

But I still want Starmer to kick this beard to the curb.

SURPRISEMFKR · June 28, 2020, 3:33 a.m. · 1 reply

"Abuse you suffered isn't valid, because you used it in an argument against what I believe!" - pretty much literally what he said.

Disgusting. How are such people allowed into the house of commons is beyond me, I wouldn't be surprised if he's abuser and predator himself.

womenopausalHuffleterf · June 28, 2020, 3:39 a.m.

Particuarly since the Trans claim to sympathy is all based in claims to suffering, both real, exaggerated and iatrogenic.

Trans suffering >>>>>> women's suffering.

That's what they are telling us.

If there weren't, if social media didn't exist, this turd wouldn't have retracted. We've heard TRA state the same, just in different words "just a few bad apples, don't generalize"-- no one is mindlessly generalizing. It's statistical sex-based violence, you assholes. Really unbelievable there are female TRAs, same females who know to walk faster in the street or lock her car the moment she's in... It's like it's a security measure based on...informed generalization?

TheOGJammies · June 28, 2020, 4:41 a.m. · 1 reply

I’m just surprised there aren’t a bunch of TiMs going nuts In the comments like they did for JKR....Why aren’t they responding to the women and screaming about TERFs? Is that an American thing only?

4eyedPurplePPLeater🌱 get off my turf · June 28, 2020, 7:56 a.m.

I think they're pulling back. They know they've looked too 🤪 lately. As unorganized as they can seem at times, they aren't because they pull off mass reporting with the stupidest shit. This was left above for a reason.

salty_catt · June 28, 2020, 3:52 p.m. · 1 reply

I wonder if they get this hateful towards other "generalization".

Like, if a meteorologist says "Hey based on all of these factors we've studied in the past, it looks like it's going to rain this weekend!" do the TRAs start screaming and wailing at them? "It might not rain! DON'T. GENERALIZE."

peregrine_throw · June 28, 2020, 6:38 p.m.

They certain know why they are allowed to generalize (e.g. all men are out to kill them in bathrooms, ACAB, capitalists, political party affiliation, Trump-- as if one's consistency of history reflects.. something... ) and when not to (e.g. All Lives Matter = Feminism is for Everyone!1!)

Labour should just fold up over itself. As in the US with the Democratic Party, the Labour Party has totally lost its way in representing the working class regardless of race and sex and uniting us, and instead, is indulging itself in its "woke" child culture of social radicalism which is as reactionary as any Republican or Tory these days and divides us all into discrete groupings that have little in common with one another.

womenopausalHuffleterf · June 28, 2020, 4:58 a.m. · 1 reply

I know, I know. I should give up on them. But I live in one of the post-industrial wastelands of the UK and we desperately need to do something about the hungry and the homeless. I also work in DV and I know how damaging the Tories have been to the sector. It's so fucking hard having a left that's apparently no longer capable of a class analysis.

ForsakenProfession · June 28, 2020, 5:58 a.m. · 1 reply

Better having some class analysis than living in a country that doesn't even think class exists, eh? Even the most lowly workers are called "middle class" if they have a roof over their heads in the US. It's really cray-cray how everyone thinks they're going to hit the lottery, for instance, and money is going to make a difference when they've always been looked down on. The elite always know who "their kind" is and "new money", those vulgarians, scramble to get recognition and respect, also, which they never will get.

salty_catt · June 28, 2020, 3:55 p.m. · 1 reply

I agree with this very much. Most lower class people in America don't realize/don't consider themselves lower class. I've seen multiple people from trailer parks on assistance claim they're middle class. (no hate, I've been there myself, I was just honest about being a poor person, I'm not ashamed)

ForsakenProfession · June 29, 2020, 2:46 a.m.

People actually think money can buy anything, including respect. Nope. But a lot more people think it does than don't and it breeds more and more hucksters and grifters. Money doesn't change your character except to exacerbate it. And one of the worst examples of this is sitting in the Oval Office in the US, a prime example of the "new money vulgarian" I mentioned.

I'm currently writing a letter to Labour in my head, letting it roll around so the phrasing is fluent and expressive.

No one will read it of course, they'll just cross my name off the roll, but they need to know why they've lost my trust and my vote.

ForsakenProfession · June 28, 2020, 8:21 a.m. · 1 reply

Good! But you're probably right that they don't care--they treat women like servants and shit on them anyway. Just what any country needs--a bunch of narcissistic, self-absorbed men who think they should all be in first place and above women everywhere. And if we don't fight it everywhere, they'll get what they want--in whatever form they wish to take.

mronion82They always underestimate the fat woman · June 28, 2020, 8:24 a.m. · 1 reply

I honestly think we'd have a Labour PM right now if it wasn't for the appalling degree of infighting and backstabbing in the party.

coppershrike · June 28, 2020, 8:16 p.m.

Voice from America here just giving my opinion on Labour's last loss --- over here, there are many real women who know that they have to bow down in public to a lot of stuff they don't WANT to bow down to keep their jobs and keep their kids fed and keep a roof over their head. But when they go into the voting booth, they are all alone and nobody knows who they really decide to vote for and I think a lot of real women in the UK and the USA are sick of the "left wing" and may be voting for the "right wing" or just not voting at all.

OhBoyWallpaper · June 28, 2020, 5:40 a.m.

These "lefty" men really aren't holding back in what they think about us. They're showing their true colours. As a woman who votes labour:

DISAPPOINTED BUT NOT SURPRISED.

Stuff that misogynist idiot. He wants us all to wear a scarlet letter. He hates women down to his very cells.

He is a homosexual.

politipoop · June 28, 2020, 7:58 a.m.

Bloody hell. I take a couple of days away from social media and the news, and come back to this bollocks.

Another little knife in the back from the party I’ve always voted for and supported. Never again.

MsAndThrope · June 28, 2020, 10:11 a.m.

This asshole is just repeating the Stonewall playbook

“Trans people are no more likely to be rapists; in fact, they are more likely to be victims of sexual assault themselves."

In the UK, more TIMs are murderers than have been murder. Half of the prison population of TIMs are in for sexual assault.

“That’s why, despite JK Rowling’s hate towards them, hundreds of trans people wrote to complain to The Sun when it trivialised her domestic abuse on a recent front page.”

Yeah, right. Where's the proof? These people will buy anything the cult tells them. Men sticking up for men. Has he ever argued against the fact that TIFs can't join men's only clubs or inherit titles even with a GRC? Highly doubt it. Because everyone knows who the women are. Fuck allllllllll the way off.

I should fucking think so, but guess what? She doesn't have to fucking accept it. Oh, I hate these people.

“That’s why, despite JK Rowling’s hate towards them, hundreds of trans people wrote to complain to The Sun when it trivialised her domestic abuse on a recent front page.”

He said JKR hates trans people?! What the fuck, how dare he.

77SickOfItAll · June 28, 2020, 5:55 p.m.

The Labour Party is over as far as I’m concerned. It has eaten itself and gone back to New Labour, and is not longer left wing. History will just keep on repeating itself if we don’t tear this bullshit system down and start afresh!

PassionateIntensity · June 28, 2020, 8:25 p.m.

This was a particularly shitty take, like JKR has "abuse privilege"? So very MRA.
