Crying too. I keep fantasising about meeting her now. She is so, so much more than the mind behind Harry Potter. It was always nice to see a previously disadvantaged woman excel, but I never realised she was a feminist icon in the making. I have more love in my heart when I think of her than the hate of a swarm of TRAs and the misguided hatred of cowards. They have made her the sacrifical lamb of GC radfems, but she is more like Joan-ne of Arc.

People silencing victims of FGM, especially while it is becoming more and more common throughout the world, is infuriating. Sorry, we can't "center TIM's" in that conversation....get the fuck over it. Seeing someone as high profile as JK even touching on the subject is a good thing.

I've heard so many TIMs say that discussing FGM is "triggering" for them. 🙄 Like... really? The fucking audacity. They have no empathy for women. (They say the same thing about all female anatomy, including women discussing periods, cervical or uterine cancer, miscarriages, abortions, etc.) 😑
They're welcome to see their way out of the convo at anytime, the rest of us would like to address the horrors that are ongoing.

I love HP books, but I was not a fan of J.K.Rowling. Now I think I'm falling in love with her. I love how she express herself, how she shares child drawings and how she answers support messages from women with lots of love. She makes me so happy.
I know I'm overreacting but I truly aprecciate what she's doing.

The lady that talks about FGM has been on Twitter for ages and has constantly faced off agains TRAs (memorably, that revolting Oger). I remember because it made me cry reading her responses and directly contributed to my reasons for getting off Twitter.
I’m in awe at the strength of these women. I’m off social media (apart from Reddit) because it’s too upsetting right now.
I don't understand. I don't follow twitter etc. Have heard about it, but why exactly are TRAs against FGM victims talking out. How does it affect them ?
IIRC, Oger was incensed that this lady DARED tweet something along the lines of - I couldn’t opt out of the FGM I suffered, it’s not violence to correctly identify you as male. Oger’s response I can’t remember but it was along the lines of stop weaponising your experiences and accept it’s transphobic to do so.
He is such a vile, disgusting, loathsome person. He HATES women. He makes his children call him mom after he left her.
tks... so the usual ... Oger is an ogre who hartes women.
She is the fighter we need. Not backing down is doing untold help to this fight. She's been reading into everything and knows what's going on. I stand and applaud for her. Wish she would get some more high profile help.
