Also JK wasn't arguing about "gender theory".. she's stating sex matters and women around the world get harmed daily due to their sex.

The real trouble is that nice and fine and intriguing and wacky ideas about discourse constructing everything, and therefore things being malleable via discourse, come up against material reality eg sexed bodies. And until such time as people are not pigeonholed and harmed on the basis of their sex, we can't ask discourse to do this kind of work. Moreover, bodies refuse to comply with all of our demands of them. The older I get the more I feel like my actual bodily functions have an effect on how I move through the world, in addition to all the discourses and all the structures.
