Twitter is the worst now. Nothing but negativity and judgmental people. "Woke" twitter, those who see themselves as the most progressive and righteous, are terrible people. I’s like you have to walk on eggshells and if you say something that others don’t agree with, they don’t even try to explain their perspective. It’s just straight to verbal abuse and humiliation. Joined Twitter a week ago and learned this the hard way. I tried to understand their logic and have civil conversations, but it always ends with me being called TERF or getting threats. Reddit is a fairly centrist platform. I used to be part of several alt right groups that constantly complained reddit was biased and ive been part of left wing activism groups that claim the same. People just don't like being called out for breaking rules online

What’s the difference?
The difference is, in the first scenario, they are acknowledging that they are men who will wear whatever the fuck they want and act however the fuck they want. They admit they are men, but won't allow society to dictate what they can wear as men. They stay out of women's-only spaces and respect women and their historical struggles.
In the second scenario, tims try to force everyone, including biology, to change, just to make room for them. No discussion is allowed - you're either with them or against them and if you're against them - ("against" as in, disagree on a single talking point)- you need to be shut down and threatened with physical violence. It's basically misogyny with extra steps and a Wal-Mart manicure

Well it’s hasn’t so far and it wasn’t like that stuff didn’t happen before the trans movement. If you let trans women into female bathrooms nothing will happen. Assault is still illegal no matter if you’re allowed in the bathroom or not.
I don't personally mind if transwomen are using the womens bathroom. But there are a lot of women who have ptsd from being attacked and the idea of sharing a private space with male bodies is too much for them. How do you propose they deal with it? Should they just get over it because its really unpopular to object?
There is also an issue that I see with the bar for transition getting lower and lower. If everyone who says they're a woman is one, unquestionably, then we should just not react to someone who is obviously a man in the women's bathroom right? It feels like we are being groomed to accept this inevitability. And what, we're supposed to wait until after something bad happens to raise a fuss? By then it's too late. We dont want our attackers to be punished, we want to be safe from attack in our most vulnerable spaces.

This is why children accompany a child and why women go in pairs, it’s for safety. There are general differences between the 2 sexes, but it can't always fit in just 1 category. For example, broad shoulders is considered a male trait, but it doesn't mean women can't have broad shoulders. It's just a reasonable generalization. Both biological sex and sexual neurobiology is bimodal. The same goes for brain structures and neurobiology. Men tend to have masculine brain structures, but they can also have feminine brain structures; but even with that feminine difference, males still have an overall masculine brain. A transgender brain resembles the brain similar to the sex they identify as. Trans women have an overall female brain. That's undeniable. Your article doesn't disprove that fact.

Otherwise anything that hurts Trump’s feelings or conservatives feelings can also qualify as hate speech. GC suns were my favorite safe space and the best thing I found on internet lately, it really helped keep my sanity. I am really frustrated and feeling that we don’t even have the basic rights to have ANY space, whatever it may be.

What do you think who were the main crowd of GenderCritical? Trans-exclusive feminists? Or women who got thrown out from trans-inclusive places for simply voicing their concerns? What do you think, what radicalized a part of GenderCritical? The genuine hatred for trans people, or the hatred that was planted by TRAs who managed to stigmatize anybody who voices any minor concern? Even if a part of GenderCritical was TERF, TRAs pushed a LOT of women there when they oppressed our voice.

You can't allege murder when the apparent perpetrators have never met, spoken to, been in close proximity to or had any direct influence or communication with the victim. Posting a message in a public space that is not about an individual is not akin to asking/telling/persuading said individual to kill themselves.
People that are suicidal need mental health support. They do not need the world to be censored based on their particular affliction and triggers.

It also focuses solely on surgery. Which leaves self-id without surgery still questionable in regards to quality of life and mental health.
It also does not compare physical treatments to psychological ones such as talking therapy. Or even other physical treatments that may lessen the symptoms of gender dysphoria, such as medication.
It would be great to have more research to find the answer to the questions this study raises. But, asking for that is apparently murder.

The post I responded to likened GC to storm front and insinuated GC was accountable for murder because of high suicide rates in pre op transwomen. Your post hasn't slandered anyone so I imagine it will stay.
If anyone, like myself, is wondering about why the GC Reddit ban feels so damaging, apart from the obvious loss of the large community which we are trying to regroup elsewhere (PM me for details), it is because the problems go much deeper.
The excuse from Reddit for the ban is that GC thinking is 'Hate Speech'. But this is not about hate speech, as there are many subreddits still up and running that are dedicated to users solely revelling in the pain of women, whether physical or emotional, pornographic or social. There are also many subreddits that have racist leanings.
Rather, this is about silencing women who choose to define their own womanhood, which is now apparently only allowed by biological males. We never revelled in the pain of trans people but reserved the right to point out logical failings, hypocrisies, and rhetoric that are damaging to our sense of identity as women, and criticise this.
But that does not matter now as according to Reddit we are no longer protected, and have no right to assemble there, as the only thing that is protected is 'gender identity'. Not 'sex'.
This is erasing our experiences. There are TRA subs that call for literal violence against us and this goes unreprimanded, but our opinions are regarded as 'literal violence'.
But when biological males state that their opinion matters more than ours when it comes to defining womanhood, they are the ones listened to.
In short, we can not define ourselves or assemble, and we will be punished for thinking we can do so. This is sexism at the fundamental level. That is why it feels like such a blow. Reddit hates women.
