Part of the treatment for transition really should include at least one intensive therapy session to be able to cope that a vast majority will not see them as their preferred sex.
This was really sad.
It used to require several months or years worth of therapy BEFORE transition to even get SRS because, surprise, surprise, trans people are mentally unstable. Of course that's gatekeeping now so hormones and SRS for all regardless of age, mental or physical health, or diagnosis of dysphoria.
This is like... telling depressed people they don't need therapy, just to pretend they're happy and if they're actually sad to just listen to what their mental disease is telling them to do. It's reckless.
Yes it should include this. But currently the TRAs, Transfeminists and their Allies are pushing for "Informed Consent." Basically if you feel you are Trans and will need HRT or T, you get a Gender Therapist tells you all the positive and negatives to the Transition process. After the information and signing a form saying you have been informed and consent to the treatment. Get HRT or T referral and you're on your way.
Funny how their idea of 'informed consent' doesn't extend to others.

I think it's fairly dangerous. I don't care what the WHO says when they proclaimed Transgendism had nothing to do with mental illness. This might work for the cultures that have always had 3rd Gender Identities as part of their Culture.
This is not true in the Western Countries. They definitely do need to get rid of the middle man; which is what they call psychologist and psychiatrists.

If someone tells you they want to kill themselves you don't just go ''oh well it's your body, you can do what you want with it!'' or you don't tell someone who hears voices to do what the voices tell them to do, why is it different when someone wants to destroy their body? Hormone blockers fuck up with your body, it's being sold as a pause button while it will royally fuck up their quality of life for sure, and are we seriously even considering that it's in any way shape or form healthy to want to maim yourself?
I would rather they actually get help than become life long patients, which btw seems to be the goal.
