I would love to get dreadlocks. I think they look neato but iirc you have to cut your hair off when wanting to remove them right? At the moment I just love rocking a curly afro until I get my hair done. Gotta let my hair breathe you know lol.

What do you like about dreadlocks?

You actually don’t have to! I had locs from second grade to high school and I actually combed mine out. It’s definitely not a quick and easy process tho.

I got them bc I didn’t know what else to do with my hair rlly, I couldn’t imagine anything else. I feel so free with them now and like my own hair much more.

I used to have locs back in 2012 but i cut them off for an array of reasons..

I wont speak for everyone, but i feel as if they've lost popularity from what I've seen (Outside of the black community that is)

I could be wrong however, and I'm sure it depends on your community / wherever you may reside.

Not many ppl here in Central Europe have them, I only know one other person with dreadlocks. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I just started my locs about two months ago and I love them! I can’t do too many styles since they’re so short lol, but I love buns. They’re pretty popular in the Black community, but I can’t speak for others.

I've been growing mine for six years now, and they're past my natural waist. I've noticed them becoming more and more popular with black men, less so with black women in my area, as greater information/more products for natural hair care has become available. I'm lazy, so I usually just do two small French braids on one side and wear them down. Or I use my locs to tie them back.

Not to be that person but just a slight correction- call them locs. Not dreadlocks.

To answer your question, I just started my sisterlocs a few months ago. My hair is still short but I’m really excited to see how this goes

Didn’t realize it’s was quite a few people in this group with locs. I’ve been on my loc journey for 4 years now

How about an option for those who have had them in the past? 🙋‍♀️
